Reporters Without Borders (RSF), in collaboration with creative agency The Good Company, has unveiled a new awareness campaign titled \u201cReporters Airlines\u201d to draw attention to the growing threats faced by journalists worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Launched on April 30, 2026, the campaign coincides with the publication of the 2026 World Press Freedom Index. Through the concept of a fictional airline company, the campaign presents country-specific risks faced by journalists using in-flight safety briefings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to RSF, the 2026 World Press Freedom Index points to an alarming deterioration in journalists\u2019 working conditions globally. Media professionals increasingly face threats such as intimidation, arbitrary detention, kidnapping, and physical violence while carrying out their work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As part of the campaign, three separate films focusing on Vietnam, Mexico, and Tanzania portray flight attendants delivering unusual \u201csafety instructions\u201d tailored to each country\u2019s press freedom situation. In the RSF Index, Vietnam ranks 174th out of 180 countries and territories, Mexico ranks 122nd, and Tanzania ranks 117th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The campaign is being promoted across major train stations in France through digital billboards, print advertisements in the Paris metro, newspapers, radio broadcasts, and social media platforms.
