The announcement was made on 11 June 2026 by the foreign ministers of the three countries.

The fund aims to strengthen grassroots peace efforts at a time when civil society in Israel and Palestine is facing growing restrictions, pressure and deepening division. According to the joint announcement, the initiative will support programmes that advance a two-state solution, reduce polarisation, strengthen civil society, and encourage dialogue and cooperation between Israeli and Palestinian communities.

The Peace Fund will complement existing diplomatic, humanitarian and development efforts by investing in the social foundations needed for future negotiations. Funding will be directed to trusted civil society organisations in both Israel and Palestine with proven experience in peacebuilding, dialogue and community engagement.

Each of the three governments will provide initial seed funding equivalent to £1 million over three years, with the fund expected to open later to additional international donors. The UK government stated that the initiative will support both existing programmes and new projects, including work with youth groups, women, community organisations and future leaders.

For civil society actors, the announcement represents an important recognition that sustainable peace cannot be achieved through diplomacy and security measures alone. By investing in local organisations, dialogue platforms and community-based trust-building, the International Peace Fund seeks to give greater space to those working directly for coexistence, dignity and a just two-state future.

UK, Australia and Canada launch a new fund to support Israeli-Palestinian civil society peacebuilding and dialogue.

[127
498,508,41,511,510,504,509,507,505,57,506,503,502
post-1725","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-australia","tag-canada","tag-civil-society","tag-community-peacebuilding","tag-conflict-resolution","tag-grassroots-dialogue","tag-humanitarian-diplomacy","tag-international-peace-fund","tag-israel-and-palestine","tag-ngos","tag-peacebuilding","tag-two-state-solution","tag-uk
["GET
