The update did not provide a nationwide total for people affected or losses.<\/p>\n<h2>Flash flood risk remains elevated through 9 August<\/h2>\n<p>The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology issued the nationwide warning for 6\u20138 August. Moderate to heavy rainfall was forecast to continue through 9 August, increasing the risk of flash floods, riverine flooding, landslides and inundation in low-lying areas.<\/p>\n<p>The overlap of several hazards means conditions can change quickly in exposed communities, particularly near rivers, slopes and low-lying terrain.
