Venice launch of WWDR 2026: “Where Water Flows, Equality Grows”
UNESCO’s Venice Office and the World Water Assessment Programme (WWAP) announced a meeting on 23 March 2026 in Venice, Italy, under the banner “Water and Gender – Where Water Flows, Equality Grows.” The event will launch the UN World Water Development Report 2026 (WWDR 2026) and convene stakeholders to foster dialogue, partnerships and action toward more inclusive and resilient water systems.
UNESCO notes the meeting aims to present WWDR 2026 findings and policy recommendations on water and gender, position gender equality as central to water security and climate resilience, amplify women’s leadership in governance and services, and accelerate progress on SDG 6 and SDG 5.
