The Civil Society Policy Forum (CSPF) at the WBG-IMF Spring Meetings 2026 will be held in Washington, D.C., from 14–17 April, with hybrid participation options. The World Bank describes CSPF as a well-established platform convened twice a year during the Spring and Annual Meetings, enabling civil society to engage and exchange views with World Bank Group and IMF staff, government delegations and other stakeholders.
The event page notes the forum typically brings together over 1,000 CSO representatives from around the world for a week of dialogue in an open and collaborative space.
From 201 valid proposals to 27 selected sessions
According to the organizers, CSPF sessions are chosen from an open call for proposals by a CSO working group. For Spring Meetings 2026, the call ran from 12 January to 16 February 2026. After screening for completeness, eligibility and duplicates, 201 valid proposals were forwarded to a CSPF Working Group made up of civil society representatives from diverse regions.
Following independent assessments, ratings and multiple rounds of discussion, the Working Group selected 27 sessionsfor the program—18 hosted by the World Bank Group and 9 by the IMF. Organizers were notified on 10 March.
Hybrid participation and accreditation note
The event will take place in the same venue as the WBG-IMF Spring Meetings, with both in-person and virtual participation available. The page also clarifies that “CSOs” include NGOs, community groups, labor unions, Indigenous peoples’ movements, faith-based organizations, professional associations, foundations, think tanks and other non-profits, while private sector, academia and government representatives must apply through other accreditation categories on the Spring Meetings website.
