PAHO/WHO has announced that the One Health Summit will take place in Lyon, France, on 5–7 April 2026. The High-Level Summit is scheduled for 7 April, coinciding with World Health Day.
According to PAHO/WHO and WHO’s event listing, the Summit is hosted by the French Government as a flagship event of France’s G7 Presidency. It aims to convene Heads of State and government, international organizations, scientists, civil society, youth and local actors to accelerate global action on One Health.
The Summit will highlight the interdependence of human, animal, plant and ecosystem health and the need for coordinated, science-based approaches to shared threats. It will also showcase the Quadripartite partnership (FAO, UNEP, WHO, WOAH) and the role of the WHO Academy.
WHO notes the Summit’s objectives include strengthening a common One Health culture, mobilizing public and private stakeholders for concrete action and investment, and developing solutions to reinforce health and surveillance systems. Key focus areas include zoonotic reservoirs and vectors, antimicrobial resistance, sustainable food systems and exposure to pollution.
